Help Us Help: Meet Our Winner Jeanette

Help Us Help - Meet Jeanette

Jeanette’s Help Us Help Story

After a difficult season for the past 18 months, Jeanette and her late husband Bruce have been doing little repairs around their house to keep themselves afloat. We’re happy to have received her nomination and help her out in this time of need by giving away a free HVAC system. Here is Jeanette’s Help Us Help story.

“You Will Find A Lot Of Duct Tape”

Due to many medical bills throughout the years, Jeanette and her husband Bruce were no longer able to maintain their home like they used to. Unable to afford professionals repairs, Jeanette and Bruce were forced to do a lot of the handy work around the house.  Their biggest frustration was their old HVAC system. There were many times when the system would not cool their home properly and Bruce was responsible for the temporary fixes. As Jeanette stated “you will find a lot of duct tape” on their unit to try to keep it running as long as they could.

A Difficult Year

Jeanette is a two-time breast cancer survivor. In December of 2017, Jeanette was diagnosed for her second time. 2018 was a year full of many treatments, prayers and fighting. During this year, Bruce was plagued with medical issues and spent most of his time in and out of the hospital. In June 2018, Bruce passed away from complications due to his medical issues. Leaving the home repairs and bills.

Jeanette and Bruce have such servant hearts and are always looking out for others. Their loving neighbor, and friend reached out to us with her story and we’re happy to share it with you!
